For the first time in World Cup history, the matches will be led by a female referee crew.
French referee Stephanie Frappart will officiate the match between Germany and Costa Rica, assisted by Neuza Back (Brazil) and Karen Diaz (Mexico).
S. Frappart is considered one of the best European referees and she has already made her debut in the men's UEFA Champions League.
