Argentina became the leader of the FIFA ranking © EuroFootball.com

Every month, the FIFA world national teams ranking leader was for the first time in history the Argentina national team. The South Americans pushed the world champion Italy out of the first place, who in February ended Brazil's 55-month hegemony.

Argentina earned 81 ranking points by defeating France in Paris in February, jumping from 3rd place to the top of the list. Italians remain in second place, while Brazilians drop to third. There are no more changes in the top ten.

The Lithuanian national team, losing to Mali, lost 10 ranking points and dropped from 72nd place to 76th.

Other Lithuanian rivals in the European Championship qualifying group hold similar positions as last month - Ukraine remains 11th, Scotland rises to 16th place, Georgia and the Faroe Islands move up one spot each to 85th and 182nd positions respectively.

The biggest leap among European teams in the past month was made by Finland (15 positions, from 48th to 33rd place), while among all teams worldwide, the Panama national team in the CONCACAF region jumped 20 spots, from 74th to 54th place.
