L. Suarezas: "Although we are not respected, I am proud to be Uruguayan" © AP

The last Luis Suarez's World Football Championship ended in the group stage.

Yesterday Uruguay did their job, winning 2-0 against Ghana, but an unfavorable result in the other stadium eliminated Diego Alonso's students from this World Cup.

With 4 points, the South American national team took third place, while South Korea, which had a slightly more favorable goal difference, finished in second place.

After the match, L. Suarez shared a message on social media.

"It is difficult to say goodbye to the World Cup in this way, but we are calm knowing that we gave everything for our country.

"Although we are not respected, I am proud to be Uruguayan. Thank you to every Uruguayan who supported us around the world," wrote the veteran.
