In the English "Premier" league, the London club holding the 8th place will have to cope without defender Anthony Gardner for over a month, who suffered a shinbone injury in Sunday's match against "Chelsea".

The 26-year-old footballer got injured after coming on as a substitute in the 3-3 ended Football Association (FA) Cup quarter-final match with "Chelsea". He will also miss Thursday's UEFA Cup eighth-final return match against Portugal's "Braga" club.

"Anthony appeared on the pitch against 'Chelsea' after substituting and playing only a few seconds, he received a blow to the knee," said Tottenham's head coach Martin Jol. "We will carry out tests, but it seems that he won't be able to play for about six weeks. Fortunately, we have a team with versatile players who can cover the gap in defense."

A. Gardner, who joined the "Spurs" team in January 2000 from "Port Vale", has been plagued by constant injuries this season and has only appeared 13 times in all competitions.
