On Monday, the World Cup quarterfinal battles continue.

Croatia secured a dramatic victory and a ticket to the quarterfinals after winning a penalty shootout against Japan.

The main match ended in a 1:1 draw.

In the 43rd minute, Daizen Maeda put Japan ahead.

Ivan Perisic equalized with a powerful header in the 55th minute.

After 90 minutes, the scoreboard showed two ones, so the teams had to play extra time.
