The Qatari who organized the World Cup expected a huge influx of fans, but their expectations fell through.
As reported by "Reuters" and "Yahoo Sports", during the first two weeks of the sports festival, around 765 thousand guests arrived in the Middle Eastern country, which is significantly lower than initially planned.
Prior to the football feast, the Qataris expected about 1.2 million foreigners to come to their country.
According to the media, these numbers are unlikely to be reached, as half of the foreigners have already left, leaving only eight national teams in the championship.
However, the locals are not too disappointed, as a particularly large number of foreigners could have caused light chaos in the country - blocking streets or not having anywhere to stay.
With just three million inhabitants, the state of Qatar is the smallest host of the World Cup of all time.
