On Friday evening, another quarter-final of the World Football Championship was played.
Argentina became the second semi-final participant, eliminating the Netherlands after an 11-meter penalty shootout.
The main match ended with a score of 2:2.
In the 35th minute, Nahuel Molina put the Argentines ahead after a brilliant pass from Lionel Messi.
In the 73rd minute, it seemed that L. Messi's penalty kick secured his team's victory.
However, the Netherlands showed character and Wout Weghorst equalized the score in the 83rd minute.
The same player scored again in the 11th minute of extra time, leveling the score with a well-taken penalty kick and sending the teams to extra time.
Argentina were more active in extra time, but the additional time ended without goals and the teams clarified their relationship in the penalty shootout.
The hero of the penalty shootout was Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who stopped two opponent's shots and helped his team advance to the semi-finals. Argentina won the penalty shootout with a score of 4:3.
