During Tuesday evening's "Carabao" Cup quarter-final match, "Newcastle United" defeated "Bournemouth" at home with a score of 1:0.
"Newcastle" had the initiative throughout the game, but converting it into a goal was difficult. In the first half, "Magpies" striker Callum Wilson managed to send the ball into the net, but his goal was disallowed due to an offside.
"Breaking the ice" for Eddie Howe's team was achieved in the 67th minute. After a pass from Kevin Trippier, Adam Smith scored an own goal.
The "Cherries" could not find the strength to equalize the score and ended their journey in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
