After winning the final against the French, during the awards ceremony, the Emir of Qatar draped the forward with a traditional local cloak.
This action caused quite a stir both in Europe and South America, and eventually, the representative of the Oman Parliament, Ahmed Al Barwani, decided that this cloak should remain in the Middle East.
It is reported that the official agreed to pay up to 1 million euros for the cloak.
"The cloak would be displayed to commemorate this proud moment and show that we are capable of doing anything to achieve it," the Arab said.
