Kylian Mbappe almost lost the title of world champions from the Argentinian national team, and their country celebrated their triumph with inappropriate actions.
One of the heroes of the Argentinian national team, Emiliano Martinez, stood out during the celebrations. The goalkeeper chanted slogans about "dead Mbappe" after the triumph and even held a doll with the face of PSG striker on his return to his homeland.
In Argentina, there was also a Kylian Mbappe effigy.
These celebrations were criticized by Patrick Vieira, who defended his country's football star.
"Crystal Palace" coach told the English press: "I don't think that was necessary. Sometimes it's impossible to control people's emotions, but it was a foolish decision by Martinez."
I was disappointed to hear certain chants that I've heard before. I want to have a picture in my mind where Argentinian fans support their team passionately and lovingly during the matches. Of course, they won the World Cup, they were the best in the stands, exceptional.
So I want to see exactly that picture in my mind and not think about those fans who spread darkness over Argentina's celebrations and achievements. That is the dark side of Argentina's triumph in the World Cup.
Speaking of the mistreatment that Mbappe received after the World Cup, I think these actions are damaging to the game," said the former French national team player.
