"Vėtra's" head coach Aleksandras Tarchanovas, despite not securing a victory, was satisfied with the team's performance, while "Skonto" coach from England Paul Ashworth acknowledged the advantage of "Vėtra" and was happy with the earned point.
"I am satisfied with the game, that's what I expected from the team, and the match was really good. We analyzed "Skonto's" game and knew that they like to organize quick counterattacks - we saw that today. "Vėtra's" players played right after recovering from the flu, for example Vitalis Stankevičius appeared on the field only in the second half. One of the "Skonto" managers told me that we will meet in the final. We can only hope that it will come true," said A. Tarchanovas.
"The match was interesting, spectators should have liked such a competition. "Vėtra" had the initiative and created more opportunities, but they failed to capitalize on them and the match ended in a draw. We hope to further improve our game in the future," said "Vėtra's" defender Gediminas Butrimavičius.
"I have to admit that "Vėtra" was the better team. I watched the footage of "Vėtra's" matches with Tallinn's "Flora" and "Chernomorets" and saw that "Vėtra" is a powerful team, with experienced players and a seasoned coach. I am satisfied with the result, our team is still young," said P. Ashworth.
"The 1-1 result reflects the game. It was frustrating to miss a goal, especially when we couldn't score ourselves before that. I think the match was even, so the result is even," insisted J. Morozas.
