Edinburgh club announced that coach from Lithuania Valdas Ivanauskas is leaving the team by mutual agreement. He has stepped down from his position in the last three weeks (for the second time this season) "for football matters", while the coach's place has been taken by Anatoli Korobochka. This Russian will continue to lead the Edinburgh team.
"The team is currently in the process of formation and I believe it will have a great future. I would also like to thank the club management," - said the departing Lithuanian coach.
Previously coaching "Vėtra" and "Kaunas" and working as an assistant coach for the Lithuanian national team, V. Ivanauskas says that "Hearts" has provided him with very valuable experience, and praised the team's fans: "I would like to thank the "Hearts" fans the most, who are the best in Scotland, and who have always supported me."
The biggest shareholder of the Edinburgh team, Vladimir Romanovas, spoke about the former team coach: "Valdas himself asked to step down from the head coach position. He helped "Hearts" win the Scottish Cup and take second place in the last championship, as well as he helped the team a lot during the crisis period."
Lately, "Hearts" have not been going through the best times. Last weekend, "Hearts" lost 0-4 at home to the modest "Dundee Utd" team, currently occupying only the 4th place in the Scottish championship, trailing by 6 points from the 3rd place and by 13 points from the 2nd place.
