The sports director of the Spanish and European champions, Txiki Begiristain, denied rumors about the possible departure of team leaders Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o at the end of the season and stated that they will stay in Barcelona.
"I am convinced that Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Deco, and Messi will represent Barcelona next season," T. Begiristain told a Spanish radio station. "They are all satisfied with the club and have high hopes."
In recent weeks, Spanish media outlets have reported that the biggest stars of the team could move to the most famous clubs in Italy and England, but T. Begiristain denied these rumors, stating that the club has not received any offers.
"No club has spoken to us," said the Barcelona sports director. "There are always statements from agents, but we have clearly told them that there can be no talk of selling."
T. Begiristain also denied rumors that the club is negotiating with Manchester United for the transfer of Portugal's star player, Cristiano Ronaldo, to a Spanish club, but did not rule out the possibility in the future.
"He is a good player, but we have not taken any steps to try to sign him," the Spaniard said. "However, if none of the team's stars leave, Cristiano Ronaldo will not join us."
The sports director of the Catalan superclub did not hide the fact that the club is interested in Sevilla's star player, Daniel Alves, but added that the Andalusian club is asking for a huge sum for the defender.
"It's unbelievable the amounts they are asking for. They got used to those sums when they sold Jose Antonio Reyes, Julio Baptista, and Sergio Ramos," T. Begiristain said.
