On Tuesday, successfully completing the remaining 33 previously interrupted minutes of the second leg quarterfinal match, the players of "Sevilla" beat the city rivals "Betis" with an overall score of 1-0 and advanced to the tournament semifinals.
These matches were stopped on the 57th minute on March 1, when "Sevilla" forward Frederic Kanoute scored the only goal causing a rain of objects onto the pitch and resulting in an injury to the away team's coach Juande Ramos.
The remaining 33 minutes of the match were played without spectators at the stadium of Madrid's "Getafe" team. Although "Sevilla" had trouble keeping their goal "dry," they had the best chances in the remaining half hour: only the excellent performance of "Betis" goalkeeper Pedro Contreras prevented Alejandro Alfaro, Antonio Puerta, and Daniel Alves from scoring.
Meanwhile, the only real chance for "Betis" came from forward Robert, but he missed the target.
"Sevilla," also advancing to the UEFA Cup quarterfinals, joined "Barcelona," Madrid's "Getafe," and La Coruna's "Deportivo" in the King's Cup semifinals. The pairs for the semifinals will be decided on Thursday when the draw is made.
