The French media has already started speculating who can join the team as the reins were taken by the French national team strategist Jacques Santini.
The first player who caught the media's eye is French forward Sidney Govou. He is mentioned among the favorites to join the English club even after being left out of the main players list defending the European champion title.
However, when S.Govou suffered an injury, the doors to Euro 2004 opened for the 24-year-old player.
The club's general manager Jean Michel Aulas recently stated that he may sell the forward. But he mentioned that he will only sell him if he receives a sum corresponding to the player's value.
Another potential target for Tottenham is Sylvain Wiltord, who was recently released from the Premier League champions club.
The former club player maintains good relations with J.Santini and this could be a serious reason why the player could choose Tottenham over other clubs. Another Premier League club also showed interest in S.Wiltord.
[Updated]
J.Santini himself recently stated that in his new club he would like to see a defender, also a Frenchman, Bixente Lizarazu.
Official representatives of Tottenham have already contacted the defender, as he did not agree on a new contract with the Bundesliga runners-up.
34-year-old B.Lizarazu seems to want to move to the English team, as, like S.Wiltord, he has long been working with J.Santini and maintains friendly relations with him.
