Vilnius "Vėtra" on Thursday released an official statement denying rumors about the possible dismissal of head coach Aleksandr Tarchanov:
"Vėtra" football club categorically denies the rumors spread in the Russian media that the head coach Aleksandr Tarchanov may leave the team. The information published on the website www.sports.ru of the newspaper "Спорт-Экспресс" about the alleged dismissal of A. Tarchanov is false. It aims to discredit "Vėtra" football club and the head coach A. Tarchanov.
The shareholders of "Vėtra" fully trust A. Tarchanov and will look for ways and opportunities to keep the coach in the team as long as possible, as the presence of this specialist in "Vėtra" is a great boost for the young football club at a European level. A.Tarchanov's experience and competence are very important for Lithuanian football, allowing it to develop at a faster pace and increase competition among the strongest teams in the country.
The management of "Vėtra" states that the information spread about A. Tarchanov's strained relationships with the club's shareholders, players, and employees does not correspond to reality. Thanks to A. Tarchanov and the efforts of "Vėtra" club, strong footballers have been assembled in the team, capable of fighting for top positions in all tournaments. Thanks to A. Tarchanov, a system for searching and training young footballers has been implemented in the club.
Therefore, it is regrettable that due to the very unpleasant situation that has arisen, irresponsible journalists spread false and unverified information with their unfair actions to try to harm "Vėtra" football club.
