On Friday, the appellate Baltic Football League Committee, meeting in the capital of Latvia, Riga, unanimously rejected Daugavpils' appeal for removal from the tournament.
The committee made this decision after analyzing the video footage, referee and match delegate reports from the match in Tallinn on March 14 between Narva "Trans" and "Dinaburg", which was won 2-0 by the Estonian club, as well as explanations from the president of the Latvian club Oleg Gavrilov.
It should be noted that the Latvian club was removed from the league after the match on March 14, during which at the end of the match the defenders of "Dinaburg" allowed Estonian club players to score two goals in the final minutes of regular time and added time.
After receiving information that suspicious bets were placed before the match in betting companies, BFL removed "Dinaburg" from the tournament, and on Tuesday the club filed an appeal, which was rejected on Friday.
"Dinaburg" played in Group A along with FBK "Kaunas" and Narva "Trans" clubs. Both the match that was supposed to take place in Daugavpils last week and the match scheduled for April 1 in Kaunas between "Kaunas" and "Dinaburg" were canceled.
