Cody Gakpo after a great World Cup in January moved from PSV to Liverpool, although so far the Dutchman has not left a stronger trace in England.
The 23-year-old winger was very close to moving to Manchester United in the summer, but ultimately decided to join the Liverpool club.
PSV strategist Ruud van Nistelrooy revealed that C. Gakpo's dream was to join Man Utd, but ultimately listened to his national team mate and club friend Virgil van Dijk.
"Gakpo dreamed of moving to Man Utd. From August, he stayed in touch with Erik ten Hag," said Van Nistelrooy. "I also wanted him to move to United and not just because it's a team where I spent a lot of time as a player. I just think that Man Utd is currently a better team and has more potential."
