A fourteen-year-old Bolivian boy, who doesn't even earn enough for a bus ride to practice, was shocked by rumors that one of the strongest English clubs, Chelsea in London, is interested in him.
The Bolivian press was flooded with articles about "Blooming" defender Diego Suarez, who became the youngest player in the history of the Libertadores Cup to play in a match in January, may try his luck with the Chelsea team.
However, both the player, his agent, and "Blooming" technical director Oswaldo Pazas deny that any contacts have been made so far.
"I found out about Chelsea's interest in me by watching TV," Suarez said in an interview with Reuters.
The young man living in a poor town does not have enough money to pay for transportation expenses needed to attend practices.
"He has signed a contract with the Blooming team, but this agreement is not beneficial ... he doesn't even earn minimum wage. He earns 400 Bolivianos (approx. 50 USD) per month, which is not enough to cover transportation expenses needed to get to the place where he trains," said his agent Modesto Molina about the player's situation.
"If this happens, it will be an amazing opportunity, and I will try to make the best of it. I hope to earn more if I play in the Chelsea club," Suarez did not hide his hopes.
