FIFA has shortened the list of contenders for the best player of the year title.
The global organization announced that the prestigious award could be won by Paris Saint Germain's forwards Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, as well as Real Madrid representative Karim Benzema.
The winner will be announced on February 27th.
Earlier, the lists of other candidates were also updated.
The best coach could be Lionel Scaloni, who led Argentina to win the World Cup, Pep Guardiola who secured the second consecutive Premier League title with Man City, and Carlo Ancelotti who achieved a rare "double" with the royal Madrid team.
In women's football, the nominees for this award are: Sonia Bompastor, Pia Sundhage, and Sarina Wiegman.
