The Champions League is back: PSG will try to face the Bayern team © zumapress.com

The UEFA Champions League is waking up from winter sleep - this week, prestigious tournament will start the quarter-final stage battles.

On Tuesday, football fans will see "Milan" - London's "Tottenham" and "Paris Saint-Germain" - Munich's "Bayern" teams in action.

The second match is called the main game of the day and for a reason - Germans will play against the French for the fourth time in the last six seasons, with the most memorable match for fans being the clubs' duel in 2020 when the multiple Bundesliga champions defeated Neymar's squad 1-0 in the tournament final.

Predicted line-ups:

PSG: Donnarumma; Danilo, Marquinhos, Ramos; Hakimi, Verratti, Fabian Ruiz, Nuno Mendes; Vitinha; Messi, Neymar.

"Bayern": Sommer; Joao Cancelo, Upamecano, De Ligt, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Sane, Musiala, Coman; Muller.

Survey

On the official tournament website uefa.com, the survey does not promise anything good for Germans - even 72% of internet users predict a PSG victory.

Teams' form

PSG recently cannot boast of impressive results - the star-studded team lost two consecutive matches to "Marseille" and "Monaco" in France. However, the Parisian team continues to lead the "Ligue 1" championship, ahead of closest competitors by five points.

Meanwhile, "Bayern" is achieving victories at home and has won three matches in a row. Nevertheless, Nagelsmann's team in the Bundesliga needs to fend off competition - the leading team only outperforms Berlin's "Union" by points.

Coaches' comments

PSG coach Christophe Galtier:

"Bayern is a powerful team, a club that has won everything. We have mastered two systems and maybe in the upcoming match, we will start using a third one, as the current situation demands it.

I will ask my assistants to choose the best options. We need to find the most balanced model that will allow us to regain the lost ball as quickly as possible."

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann:

"PSG is a difficult opponent, in the group stage, we did not receive any reward for our performance and the first place taken.

Like us, the opponents have many world-class football players in their ranks, but in the UEFA Champions League, one should not expect anything else - there are no easy opponents in the quarter-finals."

Date and referee

The first leg of the quarter-finals will be played at 10:00 PM at the "Parc des Princes" stadium in Paris, with English referee Michael Oliver officiating.
