Italian champions gained a slight advantage before the return leg of the Champions League quarter-final.
In the first match, AC Milan defeated Tottenham 1-0.
Stefano Pioli's team triumphed after a goal in the 7th minute. Initially, Fraser Forster saved Theo Hernandez's shot, soon he also saved Brahimi Diaz's shot, but this persistent attacker sent the ball into the net on his third attempt.
In the first half, both teams did not have many real chances.
The second half was quite slow, with AC Milan having more opportunities despite the fact that the visitors from London had the ball for most of the time.
The return leg will take place on March 8 at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
