Legendary French footballer Zinedine Zidane showed interest in Formula-1 races.
It was officially announced that the 50-year-old coach became an ambassador for the "Alpine" team.
This information was revealed during the presentation of the new team's A523 car in London yesterday.
"I am very happy to be here and be part of the 'Alpine' team.
Before, I had the opportunity to meet with their leader Laurent Rossi and all team members.
We talked and they mentioned a project that provides opportunities for young and talented individuals. It caught my interest," said Z. Zidane.
Last season, the Frenchman was not working for any team and hoped to take over as the head coach of his country's national team after the World Cup in Qatar.
However, these hopes were dashed when the federation decided to extend the contract with the current manager Didier Deschamps.
