After an impressive victory in the first match of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final series against Liverpool, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti praised Vinicius and Karim Benzema for scoring goals.
"We started the match terribly, but the good thing is that we didn't lose our heads and after solving defensive problems, we started to dominate the match.
I think that at the moment Vinicius is the most decisive player in the world. He dribbles past defenders, makes effective passes or scores a goal - and he does it for the full 90 minutes.
Meanwhile, Karim Benzema was highly motivated. Last weekend we allowed him to rest so that the striker would be properly prepared for the match.
Experienced players like Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, or K. Benzema - are very important in such tournaments.
When you are behind 0:2, the experience of veterans determines that the youth remains focused," the Italian said.
