“Porto” yesterday left the Champions League, but the Portuguese club that reached the quarterfinals certainly earned from this season's strongest European football tournament.
The Portuguese media reports that the Portuguese champions earned a total of 61.2 million euros from this season's Champions League.
This amount includes bonuses for reaching the group stage playoffs, money from the common fund for the UEFA coefficient, and television rights money.
The clubs that have reached the quarterfinals will likely earn an even larger sum from this Champions League season.
The only Portuguese team left in the quarterfinals is Lisbon's “Benfica”.
