The Alytus DFK "Dainava" team, which returned to the Optibet A League, greets the break of the national team with excellent spirits.
In the 4th round match held in Marijampolė, the Dainava team eliminated the goal deficit and beat "Banga" from Gargždai 2:1 (0:1).
In the first half, "Banga" took the lead. Karolis Laukžemis scored the first goal of the match in the 21st minute after a precise pass from Dovydas Norvilas.
However, David Afonso had to make a forced substitution and replace another injured central defender - his performance was ended by Ričardas Šveikauskas.
After the break, the situation on the field changed completely - the Dainava team took the initiative. Although they failed to create dangerous episodes, the pressure paid off in the 69th minute when the Latvian Klavs Kramens scored a goal after a lifted corner kick.
Finally, "Dainava" achieved their goal: in the 83rd minute, a combination of several passes was finished with a shot by Aaron Olugbogi, who was actively playing throughout the match, from about 16 meters.
After this victory, the Alytus club secured the top spot in the table with 7 points, while "Banga" has 3 points.
