The decision of coach Didier Deschamps to appoint Kylian Mbappe as the captain of the national team has angered long-time French national team forward Antoine Griezmann.
As journalist Chris Burton wrote, the long-time team player expected these duties and is dissatisfied with the vice-captain status given to him.
The 32-year-old veteran has already played 117 matches (scoring 42 goals) for the French national team, representing them since 2014.
"Le Figaro" says that A. Griezmann is seriously considering the end of his career with the team.
The main motives behind D. Deschamps' decision are the desire to give prestigious duties to a player who has been with the team for a long time, at least a decade.
