Thomas Tuchel was officially introduced to the Bayern fans.
On Saturday during lunch in Munich, a special press conference took place where Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidžić explained their decision. At that time, T. Tuchel answered worried journalist questions.
"Everything happened unexpectedly. I did not expect that, because there was no contact before. I was sure I would continue my career abroad. The first interview was Tuesday evening. The size of this challenge was the decisive factor why I took this job," said the German.
"Bayern's DNA is victories, as well as a certain style of play. This team is one of the most talented and best in Europe. I look forward to working with this team. With this team, you can fight for every title.
I have had a very close relationship with Bayern before. But then I couldn't wait. It wouldn't have been right to push something. Now everything happened very quickly, this club is a very good decision for me.
"We don't have much time. Most likely, I won't see all the players until Friday. Winning all titles is still possible. Everything will depend on the details. I have ideas on what to do and I can't wait to start. The most important thing is to play for titles," said the ambitious new Bayern coach.
T. Tuchel briefly commented on J. Nagelsmann's dismissal: "I can empathize with Julian Nagelsmann, but it's not my responsibility. Will I contact him? Not now. I don't want to be rude. It will be bad if I think too much about him. At some point our paths will cross and then we will talk."
