After several serious injuries in his career, Juan Carlos Valeron, who does not want to end his career in La Coruna team and former Spain national team midfielder, underwent a third knee surgery on Saturday. As reported on the official "Deportivo" club website, doctor Rafael Arriaza hopes that the player will be able to return to the field in about a year. The 31-year-old Spaniard, who has represented his country 46 times, had his first surgery on his left knee after torn ligaments in January 2006. Returning after six months, the midfielder suffered the same injury in preseason match against Benfica club in Lisbon. After the second surgery, the player returned to the field in January of this year after getting clearance from doctors, but once again felt pain in the knee.
