During the Wednesday evening German Cup quarter-final match, "Leipzig" defeated Dortmund's "Borussia" footballers at home with a score of 2:0.
"Leipzig" had control of the game throughout, and scored the first goal in the 22nd minute. Timo Werner defeated the opponents' goalkeeper with a great goal, making the score 1:0.
During the rest of the match, "Borussia" looked particularly dull and failed to create any dangerous opportunities. The visitors could only muster two shots in total, with just one shot on target.
All questions were answered by "Leipzig" during extra time, when Kevin Kampl scored in the 90+8 minute.
"Stuttgart", "Eintracht", and "Freiburg" teams also secured their tickets to the German Cup semi-finals.
