After the Baltic League D group match between "Skonto" - "Vėtra," the coaches of both teams Aleksandras Tarchanovas and Paul Ashworth, along with "Vėtra" captain Julius Raliukonis unanimously acknowledged that the equal result of 1-1 was fair.
"The game was equal. The first five minutes were tough for us, as the opponents immediately took control of our goal, but we managed to withstand and later took the initiative. I think overall in the first half, the initiative belonged to us. In the second half, the game evened out. The "Skonto" team had chances and managed to convert one and level the score. Towards the end of the second half, the players felt tiredness, as it was the first match on grass - this had an impact. The duel with "Skonto" was interesting, and the results of both matches were the same. The only difference is that they took the lead first in Vilnius, and now we scored first in Riga," said A. Tarchanovas.
"Vėtra" coach was supported by his colleague at "Skonto" club, P. Ashworth: "Since the game was equal, the result is fair. I am satisfied with my team's performance, we just could have been more dangerous when attacking. From the opponents, I liked the game of Nerijus Sasnauskas, he played well, as well as Vitalis Stankevičius, whom I had to coach while leading the "Riga" club."
"It was our first match on grass, so the beginning was quite tough. However, we quickly recovered and played the first half really well. In the second half, the game evened out, but making mistakes in defense allowed the opponents to level the score. I think the result reflects the game," stated "Vėtra" captain J. Raliukonis.
