After the match, at the press conference, the head coach of "Ventspils" Roman Grigorčiukas was pleased that his players executed the plans, while the "Ekranas" strategist Saulius Širmelis insisted that the most important thing for the team is the Lithuanian championship.

"In our plans there were only two options - to win or to play a draw. We had quite a few opportunities to score, but today we failed to take advantage of them. Nevertheless, it was not easy, as "Ekranas" pressed us throughout the match," - said the "Ventspils" coach.

R. Grigorčiukas also emphasized that the Baltic League tournament is a big step forward: "So far, all three countries' teams have been simmering in their own juices, but now there is an opportunity to test strength against the strongest teams from Baltic countries."

The head coach of "Ekranas" Saulius Širmelis regretted that for several matches already it has not been possible to play with all key players of the team: "Gediminas Paulauskas returned injured after the national team match against Ukraine, and Povilas Lukšys was also unable to help the team."

S. Širmelis said that he could have taken the risk and put P. Lukšys on the field, but once again emphasized that the main focus is on the Lithuanian championship. Therefore, this match was a great opportunity for the young "Ekranas" players to show themselves.

"Today there was a duel of equal opponents on the field, but at some moments, unfortunately, we failed to control the ball accurately, and at some moments we lacked sharpness. However, I believe that with time, everything will be sorted out," - said the "Ekranas" strategist.
