On Sunday, two matches of the 27th round of the highest German Bundesliga were played. "Hamburg" defeated "Wolfsburg" and continued their unbeaten streak, while "Bochum" convincingly beat "Hannover" at home.
Two months after Thomas Doll resigned as the coach of the "Hamburg" team and was replaced by Huub Stevens, Hamburg secured their fifth victory in the last seven games.
This time, the only goal in the match against "Wolfsburg" was scored by Mehdi Mahdavikia, who took the ball and scored the winning goal in the 60th minute.
After this victory, "Hamburg" climbed from 14th place to 10th, accumulating 32 points after 27 matches.
In the other match, "Bochum" won 2-0 against "Hannover" at home. The spectators had to wait for over half an hour for a goal, when in the 35th minute, following a pass from Christoph Dabrowski, Greek striker Theofanis Gekas scored his 14th goal in the Bundesliga.
Three minutes before the end of the first half, Senegalese national team player Joel Epalle beat the opponent's goalkeeper for the second time, securing a crucial victory for his team. After this win, "Bochum" moved up to 14th place with 30 points.
