30th round: "P.S.G" conquered "Lens" and climbed out of the relegation zone © EuroFootball.com

On Sunday, the 30th round of matches in the French "Ligue 1" championship took place, with no shortage of surprises - Paris "P.S.G" club defeated "Lens" in an away game and climbed out of the relegation zone, while the victorious "Sochaux" and "Toulouse" teams returned to the battle for the second place.

In the match held in Lens, the guests took the lead already in the 2nd minute of the game when Amara Diane scored a goal. In the second half, after just over 5 minutes of play, the result became even - David Rozehnal from Paris sent the ball into his own net. However, this player's mistake did not break the Paris club, and with 20 minutes left until the end of the match, Sylvain Armand scored a goal into the "Lens" net, thus winning his team very important 3 points. Now the capital team with 31 points after 30 rounds occupies the 17th position and one point ahead of "Sedan" and "Troyes" clubs in the relegation zone.

Unexpected defeat was also experienced by the "Lille" team on Sunday, fighting for a place in the next season's UEFA Champions League. Playing at home, the Lille footballers faced newcomer "Valenciennes" and had to admit the opponents' superiority in front of their fans with a score of 0-2. Both goals for "Valenciennes" were scored at the end of the match, when Geoffrey Doumeng and Eric Hassli scored in the 78th and 90th minutes respectively.

The failures of "Lens" and "Lille" were used excellently by the "Sochaux" and "Toulouse" clubs, who won with minimal scores. The Sochaux team defeated the outsider "Troyes" away with a score of 0-1 after Romain Pitau's goal in the 32nd minute, while "Toulouse" at home in an important match beat "Saint-Etienne" with the same result. The only goal of these matches was scored in the 72nd minute by Sweden's national team forward Johan Elmander.
