“Premier” league takes action against gambling companies.
The highest English football division has announced that betting and gambling companies will no longer be allowed on club jerseys. However, this will only come into effect from the 2025-26 season due to current agreements that clubs have.
This is the first sports league in Great Britain to make such a bold decision.
Currently, clubs such as “Wolverhampton”, “Newcastle United”, “Brentford”, “Southampton”, “West Ham United” advertise gambling companies on their jerseys. In total, there are 8 of them.
