"The English Premier League team revealed plans on Monday to expand St. James Park stadium.
The entire construction process is planned to be carried out in three stages, after which next to the reconstructed 60,000-seat stadium, a huge hotel and conference center would also be built. The construction would cost around 450 million euros and create about 1500 new jobs.
The current St. James Park, hosting 52,400 spectators, opened its doors back in 1880.
"The construction of Arsenal's spacious Emirates Stadium and the expansion works of Man Utd's Old Trafford arena did not go unnoticed by our club," stated in the official Newcastle club announcement.
Club president Freddy Shepherd, speaking about the plans for the new stadium construction, said: "This project is not only for the football club, but also for the whole city and all the people of Newcastle."
By the way, the Magpies club announced a few days ago that they suffered a little over 10 million euros in losses over the past half year.
Newcastle currently holds the 11th position in the English Premier League."
