In the fight for survival in the "Premier" league, Liverpool's Everton achieved a very important victory. Away from home, they crushed Brighton footballers with a score of 5:1.
In the first half, Sean Dyche's disciples punished their opponents with deadly counterattacks. Abdoulaye Doucoure scored a brace in the 1st and 29th minutes, while in the 35th minute, the hosts' goalkeeper Jason Steele put the ball into his own net.
In the second half of the match, Brighton pressed their opponents, but Everton waited for their moment and scored their fourth goal after another counterattack. Dwight McNeil scored in the 76th minute.
In the 79th minute, Brighton managed to reduce the deficit after Alexis Mac Allister's goal, but aiming for the last seconds of regular time, Everton's forward Dwight McNeil "cleared the nets" with a great shot from the upper corner of the goal and scored his team's fifth goal.
This victory allows Everton to rise to the sixteenth position in the league table. Meanwhile, Brighton remains in seventh place.
