Marcelo Bielsa is taking on his third national team in his football career.
The Uruguayan Football Federation officially announced that the national team will be led by the 67-year-old specialist from Argentina.
M. Bielsa led the Argentine national team from 1998 to 2004, and from 2007 to 2011 he was at the helm of the Chilean national team.
The last job of "El Loco Bielsa" was in England, where he successfully coached Leeds United for 4 years. Throughout his career, he has also worked with Marseille, Club America, and Athletic Bilbao.
Uruguay is currently preparing for the Copa America tournament, which will take place in the summer of 2024.
