In the history of Berlin's "Union" club, a new page has been turned.
In the last round of the Bundesliga season, the "Iron" defeated "Werder" 1-0, while in the next stadium, their main rivals "Freiburg" were defeated 1-2 by Frankfurt's "Eintracht" club.
Thus, Berlin's working-class club secured a place in the next season's Champions League.
"Freiburg" will play in the Europa League, where after a very poor start to the season, the "Bayer" team also entered, taking advantage of "Wolfsburg's" stumble in the last round. Niko Kovač's players were left without European football entirely, as in the last match they shamefully lost 1-2 to the Bundesliga's bottom team "Hertha".
However, "Bayer" could move into the Conference League if "Eintracht" wins in the DFB Pokal final. There, Oliver Glasner's players will play against "RB Leipzig" footballers.
"Schalke" once again left the Bundesliga. "Stuttgart" will fight for survival in the league against the second team from the 2. Bundesliga.
