“Galatasaray” after a break of three seasons became the champions of Turkey.
After a 4:1 victory against the “Ankarugucu” team, the Istanbul team triumphed in the “Super Lig” championship.
“Galatasaray” surpassed the other two Istanbul teams - “Fenerbahce” and “Besiktas”.
The leader of this season's champions was Mauro Icardi, who scored 21 goals and made 7 assists during the season. The triumph was also contributed by Sergio Oliveira, Juan Mata, Milot Rashica, Kerem Arkutoglu, Victor Nelsson, Lucas Torreira, Dries Mertens.
In the final round, “Galatasaray” will play a derby against “Fenerbahce”, but that result will not change anything.
Next season, the Istanbul team will play in the Champions League qualification.
