Madrid's "Real" and Brazil's national team forward Robinho stated that his team has currently acquired a good sporting form and can prevent their biggest rival, Barcelona, from becoming Spanish champions for the third time in a row in the "La Liga" league.
The team currently in third place, "Real", took advantage of Barcelona's stumble on Sunday with a 2-0 victory over "Osasuna" and reduced the gap from the current champions to two points. Meanwhile, "Sevilla" played a draw with Santander's "Racing".
With nine games left to play, the teams sharing the first three places are separated by just one point.
"We are getting closer and closer to the leading teams and after each game we gain more confidence that we can win the championship," Robinho said in an interview given to the Spanish media on Monday.
"If we continue to play with such enthusiasm and at this level, we will certainly win the championship," the forward enjoyed his team's game.
Real's successful game started after the match that ended 3-3 at the "Nou Camp" stadium against the Barcelona team last month.
Since then, the team has won three games in a row and is steadily taking steps towards the top spot in the tournament table.
Brazil's national team forward Robinho, who scored three goals in the last three matches, contributed significantly to these achievements of the club.
"In the matches against the "Gimnastic" and "Celta" clubs, I came out onto the field after a substitution in the second half, which is not the best for me. Today (ed. note - Sunday) I proved that I can also play and score goals excellently from the beginning of the match," said the Brazilian after the match.
"We said that the league is not over yet and anything can happen. We recovered first. Now we must hope that luck will be on our side," explained "Real" sports director Predrag Mijatović.
It is worth mentioning that "Barcelona" is still competing in the King's Cup, while "Sevilla" is in the UEFA Cup.
