Kylian Mbappe caused a stir on Monday evening at the headquarters of Paris Saint-Germain.
L'Equipe reported that one of the team's leaders informed club officials that he will not take advantage of the opportunity this summer to extend his contract until 2025.
Indeed, the Frenchman's contract is still valid for the next season, but this summer he could extend it for another year.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that such a step by K. Mbappe surprised PSG officials, who did not expect such a public statement from the footballer. Furthermore, the clause for contract extension would automatically cease to be valid from August 1st.
It is added that PSG is not willing to risk losing one of their leaders for nothing. This means that K. Mbappe will have to sign a new contract with the French champions or be sold this summer.
