n the 5th matchday of the second stage of the Baltic League groups, victories were also celebrated by Latvian clubs who secured the first places in their groups - "Ventspils" won against Tallinn's "TVMK" in a fierce battle, while Tallinn's "Levadia" had to acknowledge the superiority of Liepaja's "Metalurgs".

To secure the first place in Group B, "Ventspils" only needed a draw in the match against "TVMK", but already in the first minute the guests from Estonia were led forward by Oliver Konsa. However, within eight minutes everything turned upside down with two goals from Sergej Sernecki and another one added by Sergey Zangarev in the 23rd minute.

As the match neared its end, "TVMK" narrowed the gap, but this did not save them from defeat. "Ventspils" not only won Group B, but also secured the second place for Panevezys "Ekranas", whose match against "TVMK" will no longer matter.

Meanwhile in Tallinn, "Levadia" played against Liepaja's "Metalurgs" and the first half ended peacefully, but at the beginning of the second half the guests from Latvia were led forward by Mindaugas Kalonas. In the middle of the half, "Levadia" responded with a goal from Tarmo Kink, but moments later Antonio Ferreira scored the winning goal for "Metalurgs".

In the ranks of the Liepaja team, M.Kalonas and Tomas Tamosauskas played the full match, Darius Miceika did not play due to disqualification, Vadimas Petrenka was not registered for the match. After this victory, "Metalurgs" with 8 points became unbeatable in Group C, and for the second place, "Levadia" and Vilnius "Zalgiris" will compete against each other.

The last, sixth matchday of the group stage will be played on May 22 - Estonian and Lithuanian teams will meet in this round.
