The London-based "Arsenal" club aims to strengthen its defense this summer.
Journalist David Ornstein reports that the "Gunners" are taking active steps to acquire Dutch national team defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax in Amsterdam.
It is said that the 22-year-old Dutchman is one of Mikel Arteta's top priorities for summer signings.
"Arsenal" would like to pay around 30 million pounds for J. Timber, but this price does not satisfy the Ajax club.
Last summer, another English Premier League club, Manchester United, was also interested in the defender.
