After a successful season with Arsenal, Mikel Arteta gave an interview to the newspaper “Marca”.
The Spanish coach talked about the potential transfer of Kai Havertz to his team and the increased competition in the Premier League.
"The next season will be the most competitive in the history of the Premier League," said the Arsenal coach.
Why? Because it already was last year. I have been here in England for the last 22 years and I have never seen such competition. So much quality, organization, resources, and good coaches.
That's the level, and to win the Premier League, you have to be the best. That's why we need to strengthen."
Regarding the potential transfer of K. Havertz from Chelsea, M. Arteta said: "You have to pay for talent, and at Arsenal we are always interested in young players with experience. I want to repeat, I'm not talking about players from other clubs, but Kai has already shown a lot, including in the Champions League. He is a talented and versatile player."
The Basque also revealed that he would like to return to La Liga someday, but not now.
"Spain is my country. I have been away from it for many years, and at some point in my coaching career, I would definitely consider a return to La Liga, but now Arsenal is the most important," said M. Arteta.
