The head coach of the Russian national team, Guus Hiddink, denied rumors that he will take over as the coach of the London team from Jose Mourinho next season.

In an interview with the BBC, the strategist stated that his focus is currently on the successful qualification of the Russian national team for the 2008 European Championship.

This season, there were rumors that the Portuguese J. Mourinho had a falling out with Russian billionaire and "Chelsea" owner Roman Abramovich.

"I am not concerned about that, I am very happy to work here. My contract with the Russian national team is valid for another year. I hope we will successfully qualify for the Euro 2008, and I can do that with Russia," - said the Dutchman in the interview.

G. Hiddink's name was also mentioned among the candidates for the position of the England national team coach, following the withdrawal of Sven-Goran Eriksson after last year's World Cup.

"I was linked to this job because Roman Abramovich is the owner of Chelsea and he is Russian, and I am the head coach of Russia," said the former coach of Eindhoven PSV and the Australian national team, whose leadership led South Korea to the semifinals of the 2002 World Cup.

Currently, Russia is in 5th place in the qualification for the European Championship, where England is in third place, with Russia at the top.

J. Mourinho's "Chelsea" team this season could win up to four titles: they have already won the League Cup, reached the semifinals of the FA Cup and the Champions League, and are only three points behind the leading "Man Utd" club in the Premier League.
