Bradas Friedelis has signed a new one-year contract with the team and will stay at least until the summer of 2009.
The 35-year-old American joined the "Premier" league's average players seven years ago and will probably end his career as a professional player at Blackburn.
"I am very satisfied," said B. Friedel. "The decision was not difficult. I feel happy being here, and the fact that the club wants to extend the contract for another year is extremely pleasing.
"I am in good athletic shape and who knows - maybe after some time I will sit down and consider the possibility of signing another new contract?"
The goalkeeper arrived in his football homeland in the early 2000s from his native country's "Columbus Crew" team. He was later called by "Liverpool," but he couldn't establish himself in the prestigious team.
"Blackburn believed in me despite the fact that I hardly played at Liverpool. I will remember that for the rest of my life.
"This decision was very successful for me, and I want to repay the club for the services they provided for me as long as I can," added B. Friedel, who has represented the United States national team 82 times.
