On Sunday, in the first A League home match of the season, the team from Šiauliai crushed the Visaginas "Interas" football players 4-1 after a long break from the league, and the head coach of the Šiauliai team, Darius Magdišauskas, had only good words for the team's newcomer from Ukraine, Viktor Raskov, who scored three goals.
"The match was intense, there was nervousness and the game didn't click at the beginning. However, once we found our game, everything went well, and I hope we will continue to demonstrate productive play. Viktor Raskov was brought into the team to score goals. Today he proved that he is a good player, not inferior to last year's leader Ilja Galiūzas," said D. Magdišauskas on the fcsiauliai.lt website.
"I am always ready to score goals, but of course, I didn't expect to score three goals in the first home match. The team played well, creating opportunities for me to shine. The atmosphere was festive and we did everything to please our fans," said the 22-year-old hero of the match.
"Are the Šiauliai team four times better than 'Interas'? I don't think so. Today Šiauliai won, but there will be other matches and everything can change. The main reason for our loss was the mistakes of our defenders, which should not have happened," said Ivanas Švabovičius, the head coach of "Interas."
