Luque satisfied in La Coruña © EuroFootball.com

La Coruna forward Albert Luque told journalists that he is very happy at his current club despite the strong interest from one of the most powerful clubs in Spain.

The star from the Catalonia region said that he used to think about the possibility of playing for Barcelona in the past, but now he has given up on those thoughts and is completely satisfied with Deportivo. His contract with the club still has a long time to run, and the player stated that he has no intention of leaving the club earlier.

"The reality is that my contract with Deportivo is valid for another six years," said Luque. "I am very happy in La Coruna and, if nothing changes, I intend to stay here for a long time."

"I feel welcomed here. Since I arrived in La Coruna, everyone has treated me amazingly. You just can't leave a club if you are very happy there. I intend to stay here for six years, and maybe even longer."

This season, Deportivo coach Javier Irureta often placed Luque on the left side, and the player himself says that this could be his best position. The Spaniard also hopes to perform well in the European Championship and believes that playing on the left could be an advantage in the plans of the national team coach, Inaki Saez.

"Everyone knows that until this year I played as a forward, but this year I did very well on the left," said 26-year-old Luque. "I worked hard all season and will work even harder in the European Championship."

"It is always difficult to play for the national team, but if such an opportunity arises, you cannot miss it," said the Spaniard.
