One of the best players of his generation in Spain, David Silva, has announced his retirement.
During the preseason with "Real Sociedad," the 37-year-old Spaniard suffered a knee injury. Because of this, he was forced to make such a decision.
It would take 7-9 months to fully recover from such an injury, and the veteran's last contract is valid until the end of the 2023-24 season.
Last season, D. Silva achieved a fantastic result with "Real Sociedad" - fourth place in Spain. After 10 years, the Basques returned to the Champions League.
Throughout his career, the attacking midfielder represented the teams of "Valencia," "Eibar," "Celta Vigo," and "Manchester City."
